Considerable progress has been made by our group in striving to analyses the relations that exist between Saudi Arabia and the US. We are made up of Kassie Smith,
Rodney Parker, Terry Ross and me. We have so far gathered considerable amount of relevant information on the topic.
Research Methods and Topics
Within the initial week of study that commenced on 4th August, we divided our focus topics amongst ourselves as detailed blew:
• Education (Terry)
• Economy (Rodney and Kassie)
• Health (me)
Our research chiefly depended detailed and extensive researches that has limitless scholarly articles books and videos on our focus topics. We equally exploited
library resources to gather general information between the two countries. It is important to note that the interviewing of political professor Zack Robinson and Henry
Ortega from the school of Economics helped put our research in context.
Current Findings
Some of the core points gathered in our initial week of activity are as detailed below:
• Full diplomatic relations between United Sates and Saudi Arabia commenced in 1940.Saudi Arabia plays a unique role in the Islamic and Arabic worlds. The
countries possession of the largest oil reserve in the world as well as its strategic location cumulatively play a significant role in the bilateral relations between
the United States and Saudi Arabia that have been long standing. Both countries are intent on preserving the prosperity, security and stability of the gulf region and
thus lias a lot on the related issues. Saudi Arabia particularly plays an instrumental role in the significant transformation that is currently underway in the Gulf
region as it provides financial, diplomatic and military assistance in counter terrorism and regional security efforts. Saudi Arabia is Americas largest buyer of arms
(Foreign Military Sales)
• Saudi Arabia and the U.S.A enjoy robust economic relations. United States is Saudis biggest trading partner and the gulf country is one of Americas biggest
trading partner in the region (Middle East) Saudi Arabia is the second leading provider of oil that is imported by United States thus providing in excess of a million
barrels consumed in the U.S market on a daily basis. Trade Investment Framework have been signed between the two countries. In its Vision 2030 (launched in April
2016), Saudi Arabia plans to grow and diversify its economy through trade deals in the two countries.
• Saud Arabi and The USA have collaborated numerously in education and health matter. Through the visits made by the past couple heads of states, Saudi Arabia
Healthcare Forum was establishing. Health innovations and structural adaptations have thus been adopted particularly in Saudi Arabi to help foster healthcare delivery.
Not only is America earning the Saudi government to encourage gender balance in the countries educational system, but it has equally increased the training and
education of Saudi citizens in its state of the art tertiary leaning institutions.

In is our intention to source for more information on the educational and health care collaborations that exist between United States and America as well as the
effect of these collaborations
We equally intend to identify the various challenges that that limit the optimal realization of the bilateral relations that exist between the two states.
