Signature paper Part 1: God’s Story Research assignment- Project Plan
If you have not done so already, review the full Signature Assignment: God’s Story Research Paper Instructions (opens in a new window).
This week, you just need to submit your Project Plan, which involves choosing ONE topic from the list (Mary, costly discipleship, the death of Jesus, the kingdom of God, OR the Gentiles) and then laying out the following in about two pages, using Times New Roman 12-point font:
· Thesis – what is the central message/argument of the paper?
Resources – the paper must reference the textbook, The Drama of Scripture, the accompanying topic article found in the course, plus at least TWO additional sources from the APU library (not including the Bible), i.e. four sources.
· Outline – organize the paper to address the following questions:
a. In Luke/Acts, what is the significance of the topic (see above) to the story of the Bible?
b. What is important to know about the history, culture, and theology surrounding this person or concept?
c. What was the original meaning and significance of this person or concept?
d. What insights gained could be meaningful for our context today?
Structure – this is just an outline and nothing more, so just list at least four main ideas and perhaps 3-4 sub-points beneath each main idea, but don’t unpack them at this stage. Read as widely as you like, but keep quotes short and ALWAYS give details of where you obtained that material.
