Use the in-depth analysis of a biography as a guide. State the title of the book, the author, and identify the subject. Then address the following questions in your essay. Did any aspects of the life of the subject match your own?
How was the subject of the biography introduced?
What supporting evidence does the author use (photos, letters, quotes, and journals)? What does it do well? Where do you find flaws or problems with it?
What concept unifies this biography? How does this concept appear and reappear–in other words, how does the author center the content of the book on this concept and keep it in the reader’s mind?
Does the author list acknowledgements or sources of additional books?
At what age would you ask someone to read this book? What elements make it appropriate for this reader?
