1. In groups of two, identify two countries with different techno-economic bases and associated socio-economic stratification. In your research, you may find two countries with similar techno-economic bases, but with significant social structural differences, which are worth investigating.
2. Compare and contrast the relationship between the sexes in these two countries.
Examine the position of the sexes, and discuss the conditions under which they live. Analyze the social structures underlying the similarities and differences between the sexes.
3. Analyze local, national and international projects aimed at transforming or improving upon the existing techno-economic bases to promote equality between the sexes.
4. Your paper should be eight (8) pages long (double-spaced). Marks will be deducted if your paper is longer than the specified number of pages.
5. Format your references and bibliographies according to author-date citation system. E.g., Brettell, Caroline B. and Sargent, Carolyn F. Eds. 2016. Gender in Cross-cultural Perspective. 6th Edition. New York: Routledge.
6. Use one inch margins, and 12 pt Times New Roman font size. Do not change the font size or margins.
7. Use at least six (6) bibliographical sources. Two (2) of the sources should be assigned readings in the course outline. Your bibliographical sources should be on a separate page (page 9).
8. Submit this assignment at the beginning of class on the due date (July 21, 2016). Any assignment submitted after class on the due date is late. One mark will be deducted on each day for late submissions (including weekends).
