– reflect and write about a situation, experience when you were in a foreign culture and you felt uncomfortable OR were faced with culture shock. Remember that
foreign does not necessarily mean an experience in a foreign country. These experiences could have occurred simply with the exposure to or immersion in a culture
different from your own.
(( since i have been in Boston for 3 years I can tell that I felt uncomfortable when I realized how most American kids don’t show respect for thair parents- don’t
prefer to live with them- they just went to be separated from their family. feel discomfort when thair parents call them in the phone)))
– The second part of the activity, is to identify a scenario or situation in your own culture when you believe that someone from a foreign (different) culture feels
uncomfortable or would experience culture shock.
((in my culture we believe that eating by the right hand is much healthier and cleaner than eating by fork or spoon… which this believe based on religious purposes.
so i can tell that too many friends from different culture feel uncomfortable when they see me eating by my right hand without using fork or spoon))
