SOCIOLOGY CLASS –
After watching the documentary on Jim Jones, we can all gather a different perspective of the influence of groups in our society. In this documentary, we can see how Jim Jones and the members of the People’s Temple were individually influenced and transformed, we see how this group transformed intact relationships, families, communities and is it a stretch to say…the world!?

Write brief paper (one and half to two pages) on your thoughts ; of the creation of this group; of the leader ( Jim Jones) and his influence.
The coercion, power, isolation tactics, stripping of rights and voice, judgment and decision making- all evident in this grouping of folks, all of which impacted human life.
Review the notes and include your thoughts of the group think phenomenon and how individual decisions are impacted by the pressures to conform and be accepted by the larger group.
The papers are due on Wednesday March 29th. You can upload it to Moodle or hand in a hard copy.
