Good morning teachers and students today i am going to be discussing how the film when the war began represents ideas about the characters experiences and emotions
through scenes/images and soundtrack.
One of the foremost ideas in the film is that of friendship and its hardship (which we all have been through). The teenages displayed a quite unique friendship. The
Teenages lives had instantly changed when their families had been captured and endangered, which began the commencement of the fight against the enemy soldiers.
although ellie and corrie were the closest of friends they had brought closer bonds between the friendships with the other characters through their horrific
experiences together. This was depicted in majority of the scenes with distinct imagery capturing the roar emotions and feelings the characters had towards each other.

Another idea displayed to the audience through images and soundtrack is the courage and fear of the teenage characters. Kevin is one characters that presents a great
example for both the courage and fear. Kevin is often seen as someone who can be an unwilling participant of the war which is shown as he runs away at the show ground
leaving both Ellie and corrie behind. Due that kevin portrays a behaviour of fear but soon after Corrie gives him courage as she is shot to face the consequence of
himself and his friends actions in order to see corrie safe the hospital.
