StockTrak-Trading Requirements and Grading Policy

Instructions: During Spring 2017semester, from September 5, 2017 to November 24, 2017.  You must execute at least 45 trades using at least 30 different (unique) companies. On or before November 26, you must provide me with a report. You need to have at least 2 trades (a trade is a purchase or sale) per week for at least eight of the ten trading weeks. If not a reduction in score will result. Do not wait until the last minute to trade.

StockTrak Report Requirements (send it to me electronically, more instructions will follow)

• A title page with your name, class name and section, Fall 2017, and the title StockTrak  Report (2points).
• An alphabetical list of the stocks traded. To get the points allocated for this section, the list should have 30 or more different stocks (40 points for trading at least 30 different stocks).
• A graph of your portfolio performance relative to the S&P 500, over the trading period (the ten-week period) (10 points).
• Your transaction history to show at least 45 trades (40 points for at least 45 trades).
• A brief explanation of what approach did you use to select your stocks (4 points).
• A brief statement of what did you learn from this assignment (4 points).

Your grade will be determined using the following formula,

Grade= (40 points if 45 trades, otherwise a percentage based on number of trades if less than45) + 40 points if 30 or more different companies trades (if less than 30, a percentage based on number of different companies divided by 30) +20 for the cover, the graph, the approach used to select stocks, and what you learned from the experience.

Extra Credit: Extra 20 points will be given to all students whose portfolio performance will be better than the S&P performance over the trading period. To receive the extra credit however you must have all 45 trades on 30 different companies completed by the due date. Otherwise no extra credit will be given.
