Select a manufacturer that you’re familiar with and assume that you are the supply chain manager of this organization.

Analyse the effectiveness of the four key flows (in the supply chain), the make process, and the supply chain forecasting. Base on your analysis, recommend improvements by applying the theories and concept found in supply chain management.

The article must fulfil the following requirements:

• More marks will be awarded for reports which provide more detailed discussion and in-depth analysis with adequate referencing to the supply chain concepts and models.

1. ii)  ASSIGNMENT FORMAT:

Report should be presented as follows:

• Introduction – Outline the background and purpose of this report (about 100 words) and provide the key information about the selected manufacturer (about 200 words).

• The 4 key flows in supply chain – Analyse the effectiveness of the products flow, information flow. Cash flow and return flow of the selected manufacturer. Recommend improvement by applying supply chain theories and concepts. Use diagrams for illustration. (about 500 words).  (Please refer to attachment for more details on 4 key flows)

• The Make Process – Analyse the effectiveness of the production planning/ scheduling process and materials requirement planning process of the selected manufacture and Recommend improvement by applying supply chain theories and concepts. Diagrams are permitted to help explain concepts. (about 500 words). (Lecturer instruction: to be given this following week)

• The Supply Chain Forecasting – Review the different forecasting models and Recommend the most effective forecast model/ method for the selected manufacturer. Justify your recommendations by applying supply chain theories and concepts. Diagrams are permitted to help explain concepts. (about 500 words). (Lecturer instruction: to be given next week)

• Conclusion – Reinstates all of the significant parts of this report and refers the reader back to the focus that have outlined in the introduction and to the central topic. This give the report a sense of unity. (about 200 words)

Referencing – All sources referred to in your essay, including any diagrams, must be referenced to in-text and be included in a full reference list at the end of the assignment, according to the APA system of referencing.

You are required to consult and fully reference a minimum of 10 references (e.g. books; www; journal article from the full-text database; current affairs magazine; newspaper etc.) The use of WIKIPEDIA is not allowed.

NOTE:

1)    The word range of this essay is about 2,000(+/- 10%) words.

2)    Spacing 1.5 with font size 12 using Arial font style.

3)    You must use APA referencing system to acknowledge your sources of information. (both in-text, and as a reference list at the end). Every paragraph must have at least one in-text/citation (including introduction, recommendation and conclusion.
