Systems analysis and design methodologies

Software Engineering
QUESTION 1:

(a) Why is it imperative to use systems analysis and design methodologies when building a system?

(b) Describe how object-oriented analysis and design differs from the traditional approach.

(c) Make difference between “Requirements Determination” and “Requirements Structuring”. Sustain your answer by giving exemplars of techniques used in these processes.

(d) Catalogue and put in plain words 3 different types of project feasibility features. Is any factor most significant? Why or Why not?

QUESTION 2

(a) Intend an exceptional report for a pharmacy system.

(b) What are the deliverables on or after coding, testing and installation?

(c) What is the distinction flanked by system documentation and user documentation?

QUESTION 3
The pharmacy at Jules Koenig Hospital fills medical prescriptions for all infirmary patients and distributes these medications to the nurse stations answerable for the patients’ care. Prescriptions are written by consultants and sent to the pharmacy. A pharmacy technician re-evaluates each prescription and sends it to the fitting pharmacy station. Prescriptions for drugs that have got to be formulated (made on-site) are sent to the shelving place, and prescriptions for narcotics are sent to the protected station. At each station, a pharmacist go over the order, checks the patient’s file to conclude the appropriateness of the prescription, and fills the order if the dosage is at a safe level and it will not negatively interact with the other medications or allergies point to to the patient’s file. If the pharmacist does not cram the order, the prescribing doctor is contacted to talk about the situation. In this case, the order may definitively be filled, or the doctor may write another prescription depending on the outcome of the discussion. Once filled, a prescription tag is generated listing the patient’s name, the drug type and dosage, and expiration date, and any particular instructions. The label is put on the drug container, and the bid is sent to the appropriate nurse station. The patient’s admission added up to the drug type and amount dispensed, and the costs of the prescription are then sent to the billing department. (State any statements you believe you have to make in order to develop a complete diagram)

(a) Sketch a use case figure for capturing the requirements of the system to be developed.

(b) Develop a written use case for the above drawing.

(c) Depict a sequence figure to portray the sequence of interactions for generating the report to be sent to the billing subdivision

(d) Pencil in a class diagram, showing the pertinent classes, attributes, operations and relationships of the higher than case study.
