ENTERPRISE VISION STATEMENT

1. NAME OF ENTERPRISE

Green Electronics Company, Inc. was incorporated in the state of California in 1973. Corporate headquarters is located at 1000 Kearney Villa Road, San Diego, CA 92111.

2. PRODUCT LINE

Green Electronics Company shall develop, produce, deliver, and logistically support cost effective aerospace systems and systems of systems. This includes aircraft, radio communications, missile, and battlefield computer networking systems.

3. CUSTOMER BASE

U.S. and Friendly Foreign Government Agencies. This includes U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, NASA, and similar agencies of friendly foreign governments.

4. PHYSICAL LOCATIONS AND FUNCTIONS

The principal facility is located in the United States of America in San Diego, CA. Figure 1 shows its location and layout.

5. ORGANIZATION AND PERSONNEL

All divisions are structured on the matrix management model with a strong program axis with the functional departments providing programs with needed resources in terms of qualified personnel prepared to do the work their department is responsible for, good tools,, and practices that have been shown through audits to be comparable to best industry practice and effective in use on enterprise programs. Programs are required to form a system team and product oriented cross-functional teams coordinated with the product entity structure.

6. MISSION STATEMENT

The principle enterprise stakeholders are identified in Figure 1 and briefly described below. The enterprise mission statement includes several perspectives: (1) the customer component, (2) the enterprise itself in terms of quality and improvement feedback, (3) employee benefits, (4) stockholder’s benefits, and (5) community benefits. While all of these stakeholders are important, none will be served if company re-investment and stockholder’s benefits are not served first. See subordinate paragraphs for details.

6.1 CUSTOMER BENEFITS COMPONENT

Customers will derive value at least commensurate with their cost and find that delivered products accomplish required functionality while satisfying required reliability, endurance, and damage tolerance.

6.2 ENTERPRISE BENEFITS COMPONENT

The enterprise shall derive profit from its business relationships and gain an opportunity for its employees and managers to gain valuable experience.

6.3 EMPLOYEE BENEFITS COMPONENT

The enterprise shall treat its employees with respect and encourage long-term employment. The benefits package shall be competitive with other companies in a similar product line.

6.4 STOCK HOLDERS BENEFIS COMPONENT

The enterprise will operate with financial stability under growth ensuring long-term business viability and employee career potential.

6.5 COMMUNITY BENEFITS COMPONENT

Enterprise presence in the community encourages continued employment of area residents, a healthy tax base, and continuing support for community efforts.

Figure 2 illustrates top-level enterprise descriptive documentation which is described below.

7.1 ENTERPRISE VISION STATEMENT

The enterprise vision statement defines the ultimate purpose of the Green Electronics Company.

7.2 ENTERPRISE DEFINITION DOCUMENT (EDD)

The Green Electronics Company EDD defines the required tasks that must be accomplished on each program, allocates these tasks to functional departments that must provide programs with essential resources to accomplish those tasks including qualified people, good tools, and good practices.

7.3 ENTERPRISE DEPARTMENT MANUALS

The manual set for the enterprise describes enterprise practices for each task assigned to each functional department. These manuals are organized by functional department such that each department manager at the Manager level is responsible for a department manual. The enterprise integration team (EIT) is responsible for integrating across these manuals and ensuring that all tasks allocated are described in the appropriate manual.

The enterprise quality department is responsible for auditing program performance to verify the degree to which the department manual practices deployed on programs are faithfully implemented.

1. NAME/SCOPE OF ENTERPRISE

Wal-Mart, Inc. was officially incorporated on October 31, 1969. It is a joint-stock company registered with the SEC. Wal-Mart Corporate Office Headquarters is located at 702 SW 8th Street Bentonville, Arkansas 72716-8611.

2. PRODUCT/PROCESS LINE

Wal-Mart uses an Every Day Low Price strategy with the convenience of being a one-stop shop to all the needs of the customer. This includes a neighborhood tailored line of groceries, entertainment, and sporting goods provided in store or on their website.
3. CUSTOMER BASE

Wal-Mart targets three demographic groups in its 200 million or so customers. Brand aspirationals, price-sensitive affluents and value-price shoppers are who Wal-Mart targets as their customers.
4. PHYSICAL LOCATIONS AND FUNCTIONS

Wal-Mart operates over 11,500 retail stores worldwide in 28 different countries. Figure 1 is a basic layout of most Wal-Mart Supercenters.

5. ORGANIZATION AND PERSONELL

Identify the organizational structure related to the organization described in this vision statement and corresponds to the facilities described in the previous paragraph.

6. MISSION STATEMENT

State the business intent of the enterprise in terms of expectations among enterprise stakeholders identified in Figure 3.

6.1 CUSTOMER BENEFITS COMPONENT

Identify the benefits intended for the customers to derive from doing business with the enterprise.

6.2 ENTERPRISE BENEFITS COMPONENT

Identify the benefits the enterprise expects to derive from any contract relationship. These should include profit, customer good will, and an opportunity to improve capabilities.
6.3 EMPLOYEE BENEFITS COMPONENT

State the intended benefits to be derived by employees as a result of contract work. These should include an opportunity to perfect individual skills.
6.4 STOCK HOLDERS BENEFIS COMPONENT

State the intended benefits to stockholders from company success. This should include increasing enterprise value leading to dividends and stock value increase.
6.5 COMMUNITY BENEFITS COMPONENT

Cover any intended community benefits from enterprise success such as continued employment of area residents, a healthy tax base, and continuing support for community efforts.
7. ENTERPRISE DESCRIPTION DOCUMENTATION

The enterprise is described using the documentation identified in Figure 4 and briefly described below.

7.1 VISION STATEMENT

This statement identifies the ultimate purposes of the enterprise, who the enterprise stakeholders are, and to what extent those stakeholders should benefit from the existence of the enterprise.

7.2 ENTERPRISE DEFNITION DOCUMENT

The EDD expands on the vision statement to identify the enterprise common process, mode of organization, how the common process tasks are distributed to the enterprise organizational elements, and how programs shall be planned using planning strings provided by the EDD to build program integrated master plans (IMP) and schedules (IMS).

7.3 DEPARTMENT MANUALS

Each functional department, at some level of indenture, shall have a manual that describes what the department does and how it contributes to the greater good of the enterprise. The manuals must describe work that is actually accomplished on enterprise programs. Department personnel must follow the practices contained in the manual in their work such that if a program were audited against the manual content a good result would occur. These manuals must be subjected to continuous improvement based on actual results on programs and special studies conducted toward improvement.
