I’d like for us to have a big and broad conversation about the types of issues that impact ex-offenders once they are released back into society. After reading The New Jim Crow (you should be finished reading the book this week), answer the following: 1) What are some of the complex issues that offenders face as they come back to society? Please address at least 2 that you think are especially important in their chances for successful reintegration. 2) Why are these things important for their ability to reenter society? And 3) what can we do to help fix these issues at an individual or societal level?
