Order Description
The final work related dissertation is a major piece of work which links the experience of work with the previous learning on the degree and relevant theory. The guideline length (8500 words) is shorter than a typical Masters dissertation to reflect the fact that other elements of assessment are included in this module.
At a minimum, the dissertation is expected to test theory relevant to the programme of study against the practical experience during the placement. Thus, for example, the work related dissertation would be expected to include a literature review but not necessarily a research methods chapter. It would include an analysis of the host organisation and the role undertaken by the student. The supervisor for the dissertation is your Supervisor during the placement, giving you the opportunity to develop and discuss the dissertation throughout the placement.
