Briefly summarize the contents of the source (in 1-2 paragraphs) and then explain, using evidence from the source as well as your own personal experience, several differences and similarities you find between the time period of the source and the present. You could find more differences, or more similarities, between the two time periods. If you have space, you can also speculate as to what a present-day equivalent of your primary source might look like. There are no right or wrong answers in this assignment as long as you are specific and back up your statements with evidence or arguments. This is a personal opinion paper, not a research paper, but you may do outside research if you choose, although it’s purely optional. If you quote your primary source or other sources, follow the MLA format. Be sure to properly organize your paper with an introductory paragraph, a thesis statement, and a conclusion.
