You are to analyze a current event or issue (black lives matter) from the perspective (“through the lens”) of one of the major theories we discuss in the first half (normative theory, critical theory, cultural theory or postpositivism theory).
The first section of your paper should be a factual description of the event or issue. You must cite valid news sources in providing the details to provide a full picture of the event of issue.
The second section should be a description of the theory you chose to analyze the event (with scholarly citations), and an explanation (argument) of why you believe that theory is best suited for the analysis (again, with scholarly citations).
