Order Description
1)Albert Einstein noted, “Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted.” This is the conundrum for leaders seeking to use an evidence-based approach to management and decision-making. In our information-rich world, too much data is a serious challenge for those who need to make informed decisions. Therefore, it is crucial that the evidence one uses is based on logic and facts, however unattractive they might appear.

Integrating material from Chapter 3 and the article “Evidence-based Management,” https://hbr.org/2006/01/evidence-based-management/
respond to the following.
• How might the use of evidence-based management help leaders and managers better evaluate a company’s external environment?
• Specifically, what advice would you give a company’s strategic thinkers if they wish to implement an evidence-based management approach in their strategic process?
• Provide a summary of the benefits and drawbacks of using an evidence-based management approach.

In Chapter 4 of Essentials of Strategic Management, go to the section, “Concepts and Connections 4.1.” Review the information provided on costs and markups associated with producing and distributing a pound of fair trade organic coffee in coffee shops. You have to go to www.justcofee.coop/the_coffee_dollar_breakdown:accessed June 16, 2010
Given the information found in this section, post a response to the following:
•Does the increased popularity of organic products create an industry value chain that differs from the traditional value chain? Why or why not?
•What happens to the traditional value chain, if increasing numbers of consumers purchase fair trade coffee?
