Order instructions:
Final Research Presentation:
• Should follow the outline you created in the Presentation Plan Outline assignment
• May be in whatever format you chose, such as PowerPoint, Prezi, a demonstration, an online debate or interview, etc.
• Must be a minimum of four minutes in length and a maximum of 7 minutes.
• May have others in it to assist you (such as changing slides for you, assisting in a demonstration, being the person interviewed, etc.) as long as you are the primary person speaking/presenting
• May be submitted as a free-standing PowerPoint or other format presentation; free-standing means that your presentation transitions slides/scenes on its own and contains a soundtrack of you narrating the presentation that is synced to the visuals. This type of presentation calls for more advanced film-making techniques but is a welcome option for students who are more frightened of speaking in front of others or speaking on camera. If you choose this option, you would submit a copy of the PowerPoint presentation on the assignment submission link.
• May be submitted by uploading your presentation to YouTube and then uploading a link to the presentation in the assignment submission
• visiting the Oral and Written Communication Center (OWCC) on campus (located in the Conder Building) and having your presentation filmed there by one of the staff members. You would then submit a digital copy of your presentation to the assignment submission link.
• making an appointment with me to deliver your presentation in person
• Please note: if you choose either of the last two options (filming at the OWCC or giving your presentation live with me, you will need to schedule your appointment a minimum of 7 days before the date you want to give it. This time is needed to make certain that there is time available to schedule you and to be available for you
• Regardless of the format you use, your Final Research Presentation assignment must be submitted NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE FOR LATE WORK!
• Receiving help from outside sources who are trained and more experienced is always a beneficial strategy, particularly when you are working on final projects and, most likely, overwhelmed by other tests, papers, and projects. Therefore, I am offering you this incentive: if you consult a tutor in any of the following ways for help with your research presentation and have that tutor contact me via email to verify that you worked with them on your presentation, I will add 5 points to your presentation’s final score! That is far more generous than I have ever been, so I hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to receive some quality feedback and advice. You may receive help from any of the following people/places:
*Book a Librarian appointment at our campus library (details on the library
web page) http://richmondcc.edu/student-services/library

*Visit the OWCC (Oral and Written Communication Center) in the Conder Building to get help from one of the tutors there. You may make an appointment (I recommend you do so at this time of the semester) or you may be able to arrange working with them via email since you are in an online class.
