Order Description
The assignment consist of a 5 page paper addressing the following points below. The write-up should include AT LEAST 5 PRIMARY REFERENCES (primarily study designs) supporting the use of these pharmacological agents (below) in the management of HFpEF (heart failure with preserved ejection fraction).
Treatment of diastolic (HFpEF) is largely governed by management of associated conditions and symptoms since there is limited direct evidence to support a specific drug regimen.
Based upon the available evidence, the following pharmacological agents have been used:
1)??Mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (i.e. spironolactone)
2)Diuretics
3)Negative inotropes/chronotrope like ?-adrenergic blockers OR non-dihydropyridine CCBs (verapamil or diltiazem)
4)ACE inhibitors /Angiotensin II receptor blockers
