Trials of the Century Assignment

Trials of the Century is a designed to simulate a court-room trial. There will be two of these trials in this class. You will analyze both cases.

The trials are attached as links in PDF format. For this assignment you play the role of judge in each case.

• You will read each case (you have two attached as PDF files)
• For each case you must list the strongest arguments forthe plaintiff and for the defense
• For each case you will make a ruling for the plaintiff or the defense.
• You must explain your reasoning for this ruling for each case.
• Your total analysis for each case must be least 2 pages in length
• Each case has two ‘charges’; what the plantiffs are accusing the defense of doing at work. You will find the charges on the first page of each case.
• Be thorough in your analysis. Don’t just make a ruling without your analysis
• You may include any legal information you want to help with your ruling
• IMPORTANT:   For each case identify an ethical mistakemade by the company.  Each company makes errors in judgement that affect particular employees.  Identify the ethical mistake and why you feel it is an ethical mistake.
