You will be creating a presentation on your Non-Fiction Book, to be presented at the end of the course. Use the following guidelines and the provided rubric to guide your work on this project.

1. Your paper/presentation should try to address the following points in detail:
• Present a summary in your own words.
• Descriptions of the main characters: How do they learn? How do they change? How do they affect your point of view?
• Interpretation of the main them: What is the main theme? How does the setting affect the theme? Who is telling the story? How does this point of view affect the message?
• What is the tone? What mood is the author trying to create?
• How is the story relevant to the world today? How do you relate to it?
Try to build connections between each of these points. Use the book to help you make your points, and include references to the book throughout your paper/presentation.

2. Conduct outside research through reliable sources, databases, magazines, newspapers, books, journals, Internet sources. Use the Library Research Guide to help you conduct your research. When possible, bring in the sources to show the instructor to make sure they are reliable, reputable sources. The student must give credit to his or her sources for the material used.

3. Use one of the following formats, or contact your instructor about using an alternative format: Video, website, Blog, PowerPoint, Prezi, or paper. Whatever format you use, your presentation/writing should flow logically, smoothly, and transition well. A PowerPoint should contain at least 8 slides (1 cover slide, at least 6 content slides, and 1 reference slide), a timed/recorded presentation (Video, etc.) should be 5-8 minutes in length, and a typed presentation (paper, blog, website, etc.) should be 2-3 pages in length in a Word Doc, plus 1 cover page and 1 reference page (double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font). The presentation shouldn’t contain any typos, spelling/grammar errors, or visual errors.

4. Prepare visual aids to support your presentation. These visual aids may take many forms including a PowerPoint presentation, Prezi, Internet Website, Video (YouTube, Xtranormal, etc.), pictures, timelines, infographics, etc. You are encouraged to be creative and use technology in a dynamic way. The visual aid must be incorporated logically within the presentation.
