Many psychological theorists have stated that we first need to understand ourselves before being able to help others professionally. In Unit VII, you will be submitting a research paper describing an occurrence or theme in your own life through the lens of Abraham Maslow, discussed in Unit VII, as well as the perspective of two other theorists we have discussed previously. For example, you may describe your childhood using the language of Freud, Skinner, and Maslow to show how each would have a nuanced interpretation of your story. For this assignment in Unit VI, introduce your preliminary ideas in one paragraph for instructor feedback, including your overall topic and the theorists you are considering for your Unit VII submission. You may also wish to include the references you are considering as two scholarly sources, one of which should come from the CSU Online Library, in addition to your textbook will be required in the Unit VII paper, though this is not required in the Unit VI submission. This paragraph does not require a title page or references page. Simply include your name and student ID in the upper righthand corner of the document.

Unit VII Research Paper
For this assignment, you will complete the research you began in Unit VI and write a three- to five-page paper on the interpretation of your story by three psychological theories we have discussed thus far, one of them being Abraham Maslow. For your Maslow material, you will want to walk through the hierarchy up to your current level of growth and consider how you have fulfilled each step of his hierarchy. Your first two paragraphs should introduce your story, an occurrence or theme in your own life. Then you should devote approximately one page to the analysis of your story through each of your three chosen theoretical paradigms. Finally, conclude your paper with a summary in which you defend which theory offers the best conceptualization of your story. Which fits you best? Two scholarly sources with at least one coming from the CSU Online Library in addition to your textbook are required for this project. Format citations and references in APA style for all sources used. Be sure to include a title page and references page.
