Purpose
For the purpose of sharpening skills in writing official reports, compiling summaries, and skimming / scanning professional / academic articles, you will perform the following task. This is an individual writing assignment.
Approach:
You must make this report both meaningful from a scientific and theoretical standpoint as well as communicate the information in such a way that a non-expert, educated audience will finish reading your report with a greater understanding of the impact of usability.
Structure:
Your report should be arranged in the following manner.
1. Cover Page (separate page)
2. Meta-Abstract: Summarize your assigned issue of Journal of Usability Studies (JUS) in 700 words.
3. Themes: What are topic themes you discovered? How many times did each theme occur?
4. User Profile: Who are the expected users of this website? Be as specific as possible, and provide details.
5. Opinion Page: What knowledge comes out of your issue of JUS? What have you learned? What did you like and dislike about the magazine? What would you do differently if you were the magazine editor? What surprised you?
6. References: Use APA citation to reference the articles listed in your issue.
Your Meta-Abstract will be graded on Format, Composition, and Content. Use effective style practices you have learned, including proper document design. (Your textbook can help you.) Also, edit carefully for grammar and punctuation.
