Mr. Jonathan Monthe is a project engineer currently working for EUFRASIA in

Cameroon Africa. Following his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie

Mellon University, Mr. Monthe moved to Paris, France to pursue a Masters degree in risk

and project management. EUFRASIA is a mining company specializing in mineral

exploration. They operate in 3 African countries and principally deal with gold and

Diamonds. As a project engineer, Mr. Monthe’s role at the company is to initiate and

manage the various projects around the mining exploration effort. As such, Mr. Monthe

can easily find himself leading a survey team deep inside the jungle or ensuring that

enough supplies are available for machines working in remote areas.

He defines Leadership as The ability to motivate a group towards an objective or

vision. When people on his team aren’t pulling their weight, first he tries to figure out

what brought them to this state. Is it a lack of motivation? Is it fatigue? Is it sickness?

Once you have a clear understanding what is going wrong, it’s easier to get people back

on track. He describes his communication style as accessible. He tries to avoid being too

familiar with his team members, but he strongly believes in keeping a communication

atmosphere where no one is afraid to voice a suggestion or concern.

 

  1. Analyze the leadership, motivation, and ethical values of the leader interviewed and assess its impact in the ethical performance of the organization.
