Weekly Reflection Paper –conten– From the beginning of civilization, ritual has been a part of the human community. It has been the manner with which human have remembered the importance of transitions, it is how community honored the dead, the living, the future. In your paper this week, discuss the importance of ritual in the human community today. Choose two rituals (one that is religious, one that is not particularly meant to be religious) and discuss how they compare and contrast. Are there common features that we utilize in our rituals? What do these common features tell us about what is most important to us as a human community? The paper must be 550-800 words in length.
