As our course is about to exit the era of Greek and Roman antiquity, arguably one of the most productive periods of celebrated artworks, a fundamental question to think about is:
What actually constitutes (or makes) a great work of art? Is there even such a thing?
For a total of 50 points, you need to:
include a minimum of two criteria that make a great art work in your response (15 points)
provide a specific work of art that we encountered in our course so far and that illustrates the point you are making (10 points)
reference another student’s comments (use his or her name) unless you are the first one to post (10 points)
write a paragraph of 250 words or more (15 points)
