Order Description
As a starting point, this essay will look at existing literature on the hard-to-define key concepts of democratisation and illiberal democracy. The literature review will therefore focus on three various subsections the legacy of the past, influence of the EU, and domestic contingencies.
The quantitative data will focus on electoral integrity in Hungary, which will link to the subsection focusing on domestic politics, and how the current government was elected in Hungary.
The dissertation will further focus on a primary research, based on an interview of a former member of Parliament of the Hungarian Socialist Party, who will provide the Socialist opposition to the illiberal democratic emergence in the heart of Europe.
