Write an essay that compares and contrasts the novel

Write an essay that compares and contrasts the novel “Wide Sargasso Sea” written by Jean Rhys, and then the film adaptation of this novel (Wide Sargasso Sea (1993), starring Karina Lombard, Nathaniel Parker, and Rachel Ward [or] Wide Sargasso Sea (2006) [made-for-TV], starring Rafe Spall, Rebecca Hall, and Nina Sosanya )

This assigned novel/film is written from the point of view of the female protagonist, and what you should identify in both the novel and the book is what is uniquely female in their language, experience, perspective and attitude.

In this essay you will identify elements that occur in both the novel and the film, and examine elements that are perhaps created solely for the film that were not present in the  novel. What is required in a film that might not be necessary in a novel?

Make notes about the production while it is still fresh in your mind, and read the credits to refer to specific actors and crew by name. Remember, your introduction should name the film, the director, and the mode in which you saw the film (DVD, streaming on your computer, etc.)

Topics to consider in thinking about the movie production would include some of the  following :Performance, Costume and Sets, Cinematography and Overall Effect.
