Select an artwork that you have made, or create a new artwork, in a medium of your choice. Your artwork should address ONE of the following themes covered in Modules 1-6. You will not be graded on artistic skill, but rather on your ability to use your artwork to convey the theme you have selected.
Write an essay, two to three pages in length, double-spaced, explaining how your artwork relates to your chosen theme.
THEMES (please choose ONE of the following):
1. Travel and exploration
2. Merging high and low culture
3. Appropriation
4. Hybridity
5. Museological ways of seeing
6. Consumerism
TIPS:
a. Make sure that your essay and artwork reference some of the ideas, vocabulary, and/or artworks mentioned in the modules.
b. Use your own artwork. Artwork made by someone other than you will not be acceptable.
