Write a essay paper educating issues that the artwork surfaces

The arts and culture magazine Cabinet Magazine will publish a special edition of writing by visual artists to draw attention to the interplay of the visual and the verbal. The editors believe that artwork and writing side by side create a dynamic and enriching experience for a reader and viewer. The editors think that both pieces should be strong enough to stand alone but create fireworks, so to speak, when paired. Here is their call for submissions:

In this writing, you could describe, narrate, meditate/pray, analyze the process of making it, associate the image with other memories and topics, build a story out of the artwork, educate us about issues that the artwork surfaces, etc. Do not explain your artwork but enrich and complement our experience and knowledge of your visual artwork, making us engage with the writing as much as the artwork, not being too obvious with the connections. The writing should be substantial, original (your own writing), detailed, and engaging, with a minimum of 1,000 words and a maximum of 3,000 words. Your submission could be one long piece or several pieces joined together.

We love good words and sentences as much as we do visual images, so include one long sentence somewhere in your submission—a correct sentence of at least 150 words.

***Introduce your submission with a brief cover letter to include a brief bio and artist statement (each one fewer than 100 words for contributor notes in the magazine). Below is a description of our magazines. Visit the online magazines, flip through a print edition, and review our submission guidelines online. Visit http://www.cabinetmagazine.org.
