You will think about the life theme of freedom and happiness. During this past year, both themes have been called to question on various levels. We have experienced the question of immigrant freedom, freedom of the press, the definition of the American right to the pursuit of happiness, etc.. Your task this is to
1) select a theme of freedom or happiness and offer an opinion paper (2 pages) on it in relation to American culture …..Freedom and happiness are two life themes every human desires. American culture particularly champions these themes as a way of life. Choosing freedom or happiness, give your critical analysis of the state of the life theme from both an Apollonian and Dionysian perspective. Label your Apollonian and Dionysian analyses separately. Support your views with at least one piece of evidence (i.e., video, article)
2) suggest a humanities project on either theme. ( 2 pages)….Humanities is the study of human existence through the arts, philosophy, literature, or history. Design for a student at your class level (senior) an assignment or project that centers on freedom or happiness. The assignment must include a title, description, objective(s) (what the project is suppose to teach), materials needed, and how you would grade it. Be creative.
