Students will write a brief (one – two pages) statement related to the fundamental rights and responsibilities of every person. Inclusive in the rights are duties and responsibilities-to one another, to our families, and to the larger society. Rights should be understood and exercised in a moral framework rooted in the dignity of the human person and can be achieved only if human rights are protected and responsibilities are met. Every person has a fundamental right to life and a right to those things required for human decency (Catholic Social Teaching). In reflection of this teaching, and the co curricular course in which you are enrolled, describe your thoughts, responsibilities related to yourself, to one another, families and the community in which you are from be detailed in your thoughts and views

LEADERSHIP REFLECTIVE PAPER – ETHICS AND CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING   Major Assignment

     Students will write a formal statement paper related to Ethics, Catholic Social Teachings focusing on fundamental rights and responsibilities of every person. Nursing Students must use APA Format: Paper is to be written in APA format 6th edition. Use the Perdue owl website under lessons tab in to assist you with APA format 6th edition.  Non-Nursing Student: Use the writing style/format you learned in LENG 112.  Regardless of writing format, all papers must include section titles!

The assignment is to be typed, double spaced using either Arial or Times New Roman 12 point font.  The paper is to include a title page, section titles, in-text citations and references.  Students are to use the writing format as described in the first paragraph.

Introduction:  All formal papers begin with an introduction (In APA format, “introduction” is NOT a title).  The introduction should include why you are writing this paper or how you and your profession lend itself to the topic. This includes your thesis statement.   One paragraph is fine as long as you follow through on any statements made!

Inclusion of co-curricular learning: Leadership Seminar is to be taken with or after the Liberal Core Requirement Phil/Theo 3 course (LTHE 227 or LPHI 237). This is your co-curricular learning.  In your paper address what these two liberal core requirements (NURS 320 and the Phil/Theo 3 course) have to do with each other… How do these courses blend?    How are ethics related to leadership, followership and situation?  Why are ethics important in leadership, followership and situation?
